Woke up to a beautiful morning with birds singing and lots of fresh air. Northeastern Wyoming is beautiful and Devil's Tower is a special place. It was formed by magma flowing up thru sedimentary Rock and hardening before reaching the surface. After breakfast, we headed to the visitor center and a short hike around the tower. See the pictures below. This is a great place to hike and just meditate. Wish we had the time. We were on the road by 9:50 and headed to Great Falls, Mt. This is a long trip with lots of flat prairie, farm land and cattle grazing land with mountains in the distance. We stopped at the Little Bighorn Battlefield. This was Diana's first trip there, it was brief, but always interesting. They have installed a new memorial to the Indians who fell in the battle. Then it was lunch, gas in Billings and cross country to Great Falls. A good day. Animal count today was 2 bear glimpsed quickly as we passed on the interstate and herds of pronghorn. We stopped at Dick's RV Park in Great Falls. Not real attractive, but clean.
Total miles today was 516.
